P13.
What are the features of the special type spark plugs?
There
are a great variety of special types, such as long spark discharger
type, salient spark discharger type, platinum end type, ISO dimensions
type, rotative motor type and compact type for industrial machines,
with the following characteristics:
Long
spark discharger type
Example: BPR5ES-11
They are spark plugs with the recess enters the electrodes superior to the conventional (0,7 and 0,8) being able to vary of 1,0 to 2,0 mm, with the objective to increase the spark energy (This recess is determined in accordance with the specifications of the manufacturer).
Obs: The ignition system must be dimensionado for this use.
Pronounced
ignition end type
Example: BE529Y-11, ZFR6E-11
The electrodes are projected, being situated near the combustion chamber center. This allows the use of poor mixtures, diminishing the emission of pollutant gases and providing bigger fuel economy. NOTE: This spark plug can only be used in specific engines.
Platinum
type
Example:
BCPR5EP-11
The
electrodes have platinum ends to provide maximum duration and ignition.
They possess diameter of 0,8mm, what it diminishes the "extinguishing effect".
International
norm type (ISO)
Example:
BUR9EQ
The
ISO dimensions type has 2,5 mm less than the BCP type, measured
from the housing base up to the ending screw-nut. For identifying
purposes, the NGK spark
plugs logotype
and the part number are underlined.
Rotative
engine type
Example:
BUR9EQ
Used
in Mazda 13B turbo and 20B engines. The earth connected
electrodes are provided with a transversal breach, for superior
efficiency against dirty.
Compact
type for industrial machines
Example:
BMR6A, CM-6, BL-6H
The
compact type, small and light, is used in small machines,
such as chainsaws and loawn mowers.
