P14.
What is spark plug carbonization ?
Its
a phenomenon through which the ignition end adhered coal causes
electrical leaks that produce ignition failures.

As the coal is conducting of energy, the electric does not pass between the electrodes.
It is lead through the coal provoking functioning problems and making it difficult the ignition.
Carbonization

Isolation
resistance depending on the voltage generated by the ignition coil
While coal accumulates, spark plug isolation capacity disminishes and voltage requirement diminishes too causing ignition failure. |
Causes that can provoke the carbonization in the sparkling plugs:
The available voltage for the ignition diminishes proportionally to the decrease of the insulation resistance. In this condition the available voltage diminishes until provoking misfire.

Solutions
Air/fuel mixture (A/F) too rich
- Incorrect carburator adjustment
- Defective throttling system
- Defective fuel injection system
It
is necessary to regulate the carburator, the throttling system and the
fuel injection system. |
Defective ignition system
- Defective high tension wire connection |
It
is necessary to fix the ignition system. |
Inadequate use conditions
- Sustained idle gear functionning
- Low speed sustained functionning
It is necessary to ride the vehicle at a higher rotation for the combustion chamber to reach the ideal temperature.
Spark plug too cold |
Use an appropriate spark plug |
